But today the engine has cut out on me 3 times while driving at a steady 50~60mph. No warning, just a complete loss of power followed by the STOP light. On the first 2 occasions the engine restarted first try but on the 3rd occasion it took a few attempts to get going again.
1805 posts · Joined 2016. #14 · May 24, 2017. If it's disturbing an earth, then the engine could be cutting out. The EML could be showing because it's stalled, or because the disturbance is affecting other sensors/components elsewhere. They may show on Diagbox as intermittent open circuits.

This is my first time on this site so please be gentle. In the last 2 weeks I have purchased a 2005 407 1.6 HDI SW. I have a problem with a horrible grinding noise coming from what seems to be the drivers side of the engine. The noise only comes when the clutch is raised and the car is moving. It happens in all gears and all speeds.

2004 Peugeot 307 cc convertible. the car always starts first time. It runs fine for around 20 seconds then ticks over rough and the engine shakes quite badly for around 3 mins. If you try and drive it, the engine cuts out but when the temp gets to around 70, it goes sweet as a nut and no further problems.
